THE PODCAST

Equal Temperament

Classical music lovers know what they like and what they don’t like, but often they don’t know why? Andy takes you on a musical journey of discovery from how melodies have changed over time to the complexities of equal temperament.

Podcast Title Here

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen.

It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

RECIPE FOR THE PODCAST

Orange Angel Cake

This was a recipe that I was giving by a friend in mother’s group when both our twins were babies. Every time I make it I think how mad we must have been trying to make cakes while running after twin toddlers. It is a much more relaxed setting when I make it today!

EPISODE FIVE

Equal Temperament

In Episode 5, Andy explains to Rob the mysterious concept of Equal Temperament. Musicians, composers, scientists and instrument makers in the West, worked for hundreds of years to manipulate sound to make our concept of tonality different from all other music. How and why did they do this and why is this linked to a Jaffa Cake? See the recipe for the podcast down below:
